VirtualBox and Wayland host limitations

Linux hosts with Wayland desktop may experience limitations with Virtualbox. Forum topics such as Wayland screen splitting continue to emerge on specific workflows.

Workaround

Try forcing the VirtualBox GUI to use X11 (XWayland) via the Qt QT_QPA_PLATFORM environment variable:
